L.A. Reid is back in the game after leaving Sony’s Epic Records back in May 2017. He’s signed rapper Big Boi from the group Outkast.

According to Variety Reid formed a new company called HitCo and is, “working to radio the song All Night.” The song became a hit last year when Apple played it during it’s iPhone X campaign. The campaign video has over 15 million views on YouTube and has topped Shazam charts in Japan and France.

On his own, Big Boi has made three solo albums a part from his work with Andre 3000 who completes the group Outkast. Reid found and signed their group fresh out of high school, which lead to their iconic albums Stankonia and Speakerboxxx/The Love Below. Between 2002 and 2004 the group received 6 Grammy awards.

Big Boi was part of an experimental Hip-Hop group called Big Grams that also had rapper Phantogram in it. Their EP was released in 2015 by Epic Records under the direction of Reid back when he was the companies CEO.

Reid and Charles Goldstuck have raised over $100 million to get HitCo off the ground. They plan to have bases in New York, Los Angeles and Atlanta.
