Killer Mike and T.I. are turning their attention to politics as the two rappers will advise new Atlanta mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms on her first-term agenda and her Administration’s recruitment.

The 38-person team – which also includes CEOs, religious leaders, and educators – will be tasked with advising Mayor Bottoms as she finalizes her first-term agenda and appoints cabinet members, noisey.com reports.

“I am grateful to announce this 38-strong transition team,” Bottoms said at a press conference. “It represents a tremendous amount of diversity and depth, and really the best and the brightest in the city of Atlanta.”

On Instagram, Killer Mike wrote on Instagram that he and T.I. would work alongside Bottoms to make Atlanta a more equitable place. “Remember all those ‘ig haters saying what they wish rappers and athletes wud do with their time, Money and resources’. Well now that it’s happening u can STFU complaining and get active locally to help me, @troubleman31 & our New Mayor Make Atlanta a city where all its citizens can do the same no matter fame or status.”

Tip has been a longtime vocal critic of police brutality and his transition into the political arena confirms that he’s ready to do his part to make some lasting social changes.
