Unfortunately we’ve become accustomed to seeing the name Mayweather and the words “violence towards women” in the same sentence. And when we do, we primarily think of Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Well, this time it’s different because it’s Floyd Mayweather Sr. who’s the focus of this story. That’s because there’s a warrant out for his arrest over a battery charge he faces stemming from an incident after the Canelo Alvarez-GGG fight in September.

Specifically, Mayweather Sr. has been charged with battery for allegedly pulling a woman out of a car in Las Vegas during the early hours of Sept. 17 and punching her in the leg.

The alleged victim was heading toward Mayweather’s car when an argument broke out between the two. Mayweather allegedly told the woman to get out of the car, but she refused so he reached in and dragged her out by the leg, according to TMZ Sports.

65-year-old Floyd allegedly made things worse by punching her in the leg once she was out of the car. The accuser claims Floyd then got in the driver’s seat and sped off without her.

The sports gossip site also says the woman was hospitalized with minor injuries.

The Blast first reported about the charge and says the criminal complaint was filed on Jan. 11 and the warrant for Floyd Sr.’s arrest was issued on Jan. 16.

A rep for Mayweather reportedly told TMZ Sports that the woman is trying to extort the money.

Mayweather, 65, is a former boxer and a trainer. Floyd Jr says he was abused by his father when he was growing up.
