Michelle Williams explains that while she was at the height of her career with Destiny’s Child, she just wasn’t happy—and many couldn’t fathom why because she was so successful.
Williams makes the important point that depression often has a chemical component that has nothing to do with life circumstances. By mentioning her childhood and things that she saw growing up, it’s possible she could have also been dealing with trauma and/or post traumatic stress disorder.
It’s important if you believe that you are depressed or are constantly sad and don’t know why that you seek professional help. Depression is as deadly as any other life-threatening illness.
