Mystikal (Caddo Parrish Sheriff’s Office)

A grand jury has indicted a New Orleans rapper Mystikal of first-degree rape and second-degree kidnapping in connection with an assault.

The 46-year-old rapper, born Michael Lawrence Tyler, surrendered to authorities last month at Caddo Correctional Center. His bond has been set at $3 million.

Mystikal is one of three people who were wanted in connection with an assault Oct. 22 at a casino in downtown Shreveport.

Also indicted in the case are Averweone Darnell Holman, 26, of Shreveport, on one count each of first-degree rape and second-degree kidnapping, and Tenichia Monieck Wafford, 42, of Harker Heights, Texas, on one count of obstruction of justice. Her bond has been set at $500,000.

Police claimed Wafford sought to make the alleged victim rescind her story. Last month, Wafford told TMZ that Mystikal’s alleged accuser was lying about what she, Mystikal and Holman had done. “Ain’t nobody did nothing to that girl, like for real,” Wafford said in a video message. “She even told me—and yes, I got it on record—that she said ain’t nobody did nothing to her. This is some bullsh*t though, they done threw me for a loop, ’cause if I would’ve knew all that, I wouldn’t have even called. I just called to check up on a friend. That’s all I was doing.”

In 2003, Mystikal pleaded guilty to sexual battery and extortion charges. Upon his release in January 2010, he faced five years on probation and was required to register as a sex offender in Louisiana.
