In Chicago, a 19-year-old woman was found dead inside of a freezer at the Crowne Plaza Hotel on Sunday morning.

Keeneka Jenkins attended a party Friday night at the hotel and was last seen on Saturday morning. After 1:15 pm she was reported missing.

According to the family, police told them that their daughter walked into the freezer when she was heavily intoxicated.

Kenneka Jenkins mother, Teresa Martin doesn’t believe that the story ends there.

‘In an interview with

ABC 7, Chicago Martin said, “It’s something that no one could ever imagine. It’s unbelievable.”

Jenkins’ sister explained to police that her sister left the house at 11:30 pm Friday night for the party. At 1:30 am on Saturday she recalled receiving a text from her sister.

After being alerted to this, Rosemont police searched the hotel until they found Jenkins body inside a freezer. She was pronounced dead at the scene as police reported that her body was beyond resuscitation.

Internet ‘detectives’ are speculating that Jenkins was set up by her friends, although those allegations have not been proven and a cause of death has not been released yet. The speculation is centered on two videos that have been released on social media that some viewers say make it look as though Jenkins was sexually assaulted.

A statement was released by the hotel following the incident saying, “The Crowne Plaza Chicago O’Hare Hotel and Conference Center holds the safety, security, and well-being of our guests and employees as our top priority and concern. We are saddened by this news, and our thoughts are with the young woman and her family during this difficult time. The hotel staff will continue to cooperate fully with local authorities. All further questions should be directed to the Rosemont Police Department.”
