With the situation in Houston being dire, people can’t afford to wait for first responders to rescue them. Neighbors are helping neighbors and strangers are helping strangers.

One of those helping others is singer Carl Thomas. He in in Houston helping those who need assistance in evacuating unsafe areas and homes due to Hurricane Harvey. The singer shared footage of him riding on his boat.

“I’m evacuating right now. I’ve got my dogs with me. Y’all pray for Houston. I’m not really worried, ultimately I know that whatever happens, it’s gonna be alright. It’s gonna be alright.”

He added:

“And waters are pretty high, you see me…I’m on a boat. Situation’s very serious. They’re evacuating our elderly and people that can’t help themselves.”

Meanwhile, as Hurricane Harvey continues to devastate Texas, celebrities, especially those with Houston ties, took to social media to say that they are thinking of Houston and everyone affected.

Houston native Beyoncè posted a photo showing her love and support.

Singer Kelly Rowland wrote on Instagram, “Houston has, and always will be the city that changed my LIFE! Everyone please send out prayers for H-Town!”

Barack Obama expressed his support for the beleaguered city in a Tweet:

 

And Drake shared his feelings about H-Town as well:
