White House press secretary Sean Spicer got testy with veteran African-American reporter  April Ryan during Tuesday’s daily press briefing, and twice told her to “stop shaking your head” while he was answering her question.

Ryan, the Washington bureau chief for American Urban Radio Networks, started her questioning by asking Spicer how the administration would work to revamp its image amid multiple scandals.

Visibly riled, Spicer accused Ryan of having an agenda.

“It seems like you’re hell-bent on trying to make sure that whatever image you want to tell about this White House stays,” Spicer said.

Ryan interrupted to clarify her question, which prompted Spicer to say, “You asked me a question and I’m gonna answer it. Please. Stop shaking your head again…”

Immediately after the briefing ended, Ryan tweeted in frustration:

Following the presser, Ryan appeared on MSNBC to discuss what had just happened.

“You cannot ignore as a reporter,” the issues she grilled Spicer about, she said. “Sean is being the White House press secretary, talking about and trying to make this administration look better than what it does right now, and unfortunately I was road kill today.”

Ryan got support from Hillary Clinton, who referenced Ryan and Maxine Waters vs. Bill O’Reilly in her ‘comeback speech.’
