Young, Tenacious and Ambitious are three words to describe the “Beautiful to Behold” Priyadarshini Persaud. Born and raised in Cheverly, Maryland, Ms. Persaud valued education at an early age.
After graduating from Bladensburg High School, Priyadarshini attended Prince George’s Community College (PGCC) on a full scholarship. She graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2011 with two Associate Degrees in Mass Communications and General Studies. It was at PGCC where she stumbled into a seminar led by her “media mom” – the late Sheila Stewart, a Radio One executive producer. Priyadarshini began to develop her skills and passion for media while gaining experience at several outlets including Radio One as a newsroom intern for the nationally syndicated Russ Parr Morning Show, as well as serving as media relations & community affairs intern for all five DC Market Radio One stations. She can also add voiceover artist to her repertoire.
Becoming the youngest board-op in the DC Market for Radio One, Priyadarhini continued her education at Bowie State University. A National Leadership and Success inductee, she graduated Magnum Cum Laude in 2014 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications. Learning the business with industry experts exposed Priyadarshini to the corporate side of the entertainment industry and lead her to explore becoming her own boss, thus creating her company “P2 Media.” With “P2Media,” Priyadarshini manages high profile and up-and-coming artists, markets new business, and executes the necessary components to ensure artist success. Clients include, Grammy Nominated Singer Ginuwine, Rapper Kidd Flash, Celebrity Dessert Stylist “Basket Treats by Alexis Streets,” newest seafood sensation “Crab Boss” and more.
Focused on the next step with her career, Priyadarshini moved to Los Angeles, CA to intern for a public relations firm. After settling in L.A., Priyadarshini received a call from Bowie State University informing her that she would be a recipient of the Graduate Assistantship in the Organizational Communications Department. With the advice of her parents to take advantage of that opportunity, she packed up and came back home. Priyadarshini attended graduate school at no cost while she served in several capacities including a teacher’s assistant for COMM undergraduate courses, Northeast Regional Representative for the National Black Graduate Student Association, and she was elected speaker for her 2016 graduation.
Upon completing her graduate studies, Priyadarshini tapped into her God-given purpose –
to inspire and assist others on a major platform. In November 2016, Priyadarshini and her alter ego “Queen Pri” joined the nationally syndicated Russ Parr Morning Show as an Associate Producer and fill-in entertainment reporter. She is also pushing her goals higher and starring in hilarious social media skits as well as pre-production for her debut on the television screen.
A strong believer in serving the community, Priyadarshini gives back by donating her time and energy to organizing canned food drives and coat drives for the homeless. She is also a strong advocate for social awareness and volunteers her time toward the advancement of displaced and troubled children.
