Platinum selling superstar R. Kelly is adding a holiday album to his repertoire of legendary records. 12 Nights Of Christmas features all original songs that instantly put you in the Christmas spirit and then some.
He talks to the Tom Joyner Morning Show about his writing process, just how many songs he’s recorded and why he calls his studio Wal-Mart.
“They’re all original songs. I’ve been working on this album for 10 years…to create my sound. Hopefully 20 years from now they’ll pull out this album with the Sam Cookes and Nat King Coles,” he said. “I kept a Christmas tree up in one of my rooms at the house and one of my rooms at the house. And that kept me reminded. Every time I got around that spirit, I’d go in and work on a song.”
