Quotes from a 2015 interview with rapper A$AP Rocky recently surfaced online, and he came under fire for pretty much saying that he can’t be bothered with this  black lives matter nonsense. He would rather get high, spread his seed to as many THOTS and IG models as possible, and then retire to his comfy lifestyle in Beverly Hills.

A portion of Rocky’s September 2015 conversation with Tine Out was shared on Instagram and Twitter with people being disgusted by his thoughts on Black Lives in America and standing up to police brutality.

In the interview, Rocky said:

“They’re not forcing me to do s—. I’m just gonna stay black and die. Why, because I’m black? So every time something happens because I’m black I gotta stand up? What the f— am I, Al Sharpton now? I’m ASAP Rocky. I did not sign up to be no political activist. I wanna talk about my mother—— lean, my best friend dying, the girls that come in and out of my life, the jiggy fashion that I wear, my new inspirations in drugs! I don’t wanna talk about no f——- Ferguson and s— because I don’t live over there! I live in f—— Soho and Beverly Hills. I can’t relate. I’m in the studio; I’m in these fashion studios; I’m in these b—— drawers. I’m not doing anything outside of that. That’s my life.”

A$AP seems to have changed his tune since then, because he appeared in the recent “23 Ways” PSA with Alicia Keyes, Beyonce and Queen Latifah. He has also responded to the criticism over his comments in a couple of Twitter tweets, the first two he has since deleted.

“IF N*GGAS WANNA GAS INTERVIEWS FROM OVER A YEAR AGO BE MY GUEST, ALL THIS SOCIAL INJUSTICE MAKES ME F*KIN SICK, THO IM STILL NO POLITICIAN,” he wrote in one.

He continued: “I KNOW MY STATEMENT SEEMED INSENSITIVE BUT THE SAD THING IS U BASE UR THOUGHTS OF ME OFF AN INTERVIEW FROM 2015 DAT U NEVER EVEN FULLY READ”.

He added: “F*K ALL THESE COPS KILLIN THE URBAN YOUTH DEM, N F*K ALL YALH N*GGAS FOR DICK RIDIN ON BASH ROCKY DAY, LMAO, UNTIL NEXT TIME TWITTER”.

Too little too late?
