We guess we should have known it would take very little time for odd theories behind Prince’s recent death to start circulating, and alas, here is a doozy. Irish singer Sinead O’Connor, whose biggest hit “Nothing Compares 2 U” was written by beloved crooner and musician Prince, claims she knows from whence Prince’s alleged drug problems stemmed. Wait – are you ready for this? Sinead asserts that Prince’s close friend Arsenio Hall is the culprit, according to TMZ.

In a full-fledged attack, TMZ reports O’Connor said, “Two words for the DEA investigating where (sic) prince got his drugs over the decades … Arsenio Hall (AKA Prince’s and Eddie Murphy’s bitch).”

According to People Magazine, O’Connor also added, “Anyone imagining prince was not a long time hard drug user is living in cloud cuckoo land.”

This allegation leaves most of us scratching our heads. Many of us have never known O’Connor to be close with Prince, particularly considering she once alleged that she and Prince had a strange dust-up during her visit with him in the Hollywood Hills.

As if that weren’t enough, she continued her tirade on her Facebook page, stating she has reported Hall to the Carver County Sheriff’s department; the department is currently investigating the death of Prince.

Hall’s representative said O’Connor’s claim is “absolutely false, ridiculous and absurd.”

Thus far, O’Connor has not responded to Hall’s denial, but this instance is not the singer’s first round of controversial social media posts. In November, she exposed her battle with depression in a lengthy Facebook post telling followers she had taken a drug overdose. This occurred four years after being diagnosed with PTSD. Following the post, O’Connor was later located safe and sound in Dublin, Ireland.

As strange as O’Connor’s allegation regarding Prince may seem, this could be the first of many for the deceased musical legend.
