A-list actor Will Smith has a roster of blockbuster movies under his belt including Independence Day, Men In Black, and Ali. With all he’s accomplished in both music and film, it’s no wonder the mega-star was presented with the Generation Award at the 2016 MTV Movie Awards.

Host and fellow Philadelphian Kevin Hart kicked off the tribute giving a nod to his hometown hero, followed by a performance by Lonely Island paying homage to Smith’s iconic tracks like “Parents Just Don’t Understand” and the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air theme song.

Will’s good pals Queen Latifah and Halle Berry also stepped on stage to say a few words about their friendship and how he’s helped open up the door for other actors of color.

A humbled Will accepted the honor, reflecting on all he’s achieved with 3 decades in the game. “I released my first record when I was 17, and so I’m 47 years old, this June marks 30 years in this business for me,” he says. “In this world there is a lot of suffering, a lot of people are suffering in this world and when you see my material and when I present myself in public and what I’m trying to do with my family and my friends, I just want all of you to know that I am dedicated to till I die to light and love.”
