In case you hadn’t noticed, History Channel’s H2 network on your digital cable box has been taken over by Viceland, a new channel from Vice Media (the folks behind HBO’s “Vice”).

Viceland launched on Feb. 29 and currently has six original programs in rotation – the most critically-acclaimed being “Noisey.”

Airing Tuesdays at 10 p.m., “Noisey” features host Zach Goldbaum travelling around the country exploring underground music scenes. The season premiere finds him in Compton with Grammy-winning rapper Kendrick Lamar and his neighborhood Bloods (the episode is titled “Bompton”).

In the half-hour, Lamar traces his upbringing, while undiscovered talent is introduced, and the issues of gang violence, incarceration, and failing schools are brought to light.

“It’s a music show, but it’s like music is the entry point to talk about what’s going on in the city,” explains Goldbaum, who is also shown hilariously jumping fences and spinning donuts as he tries to keep up with his hosts.
