Actor/singer Quincy Brown has confirmed that Lee Daniels’ next project will be about an Atlanta based girl group. Daniels’ is gearing up to produce the new TV show, and HipHollywood caught up Quincy who has nabbed a part on the yet-untitled pilot.

“It’s about a girl group and the ups-and-downs of that, can’t say too much more than that,” explained Quincy who was last seen in “Dope.”

Quincy not only auditioned for a role on “Empire,” he also had to prove himself once more to Daniels in order to secure a part in this untitled girl group project. “It was from the ground up. It was like 8 call backs in total. It don’t come easy,” Brown said.

Daniels has announced that Queen Latifah and Benjamin Bratt will lead the cast, along with transgender model Amiyah Scott, according to a photo posted on Daniels’ Instagram account.
