Stacey Dash, the misguided actress-turned-Republican-mouthpiece, is a complete embarrassment. She has no original arguments; she often appears to be intellectually underserved; she’s clueless.

A commentator for the conservative Fox News Network, Dash has been suspended by the network for using profanity on-air to criticize President Barack Obama about his strategy to fight terrorists who may plan to attack the United States.

Her comments came after Obama spoke to the nation about terrorism from the Oval Office last Sunday.

The president, Dash said, “didn’t give a sh–” about his speech.

Her remarks were totally unprofessional and once again showed that Dash is a crass, uninformed communicator.

“It’s ridiculous. His speech was an epic fail,” Dash said. “It was like when you have to go to dinner with your parents, but you have a party to go to afterwards, that’s what it felt like.”

“He was just trying to get thorough it because he wanted to go to this event afterwords,” she said. “I did not feel any better. I didn’t feel any passion from him. Like you said. I felt like he could give a shit. Excuse me. Like he could care less. He could care less. And here we have 14 people dead. Today is the anniversary of Pearl Harbor. His speech should have had a lot more passion.”

It’s fair to have a reasonable disagreement with Obama over policies. The president can’t please everyone. But what bothers me is when people like Dash, an actress who is not known for her political astuteness, uses profanity to scold Obama, which disrespects the president, the office, and totally diminishes her argument.

I’m not suggesting that Dash should agree with Obama because she is Black. But I am saying she should respect America’s commander-in-chief and the nation’s first Black president.

He deserves the respect.

Dash is claiming to know what Obama was thinking but does she truly believe that Obama didn’t care about his speech? That’s absurd. As a father of two daughters and a husband, Obama understands the importance – and passion – for protecting American families against terrorists.

Fox suspended Dash immediately and it was the right call.

“Earlier today, Fox contributors Lt. Col. Ralph Peters and Stacey Dash made comments on different programs that were completely inappropriate and unacceptable for our air,” Fox senior executive vice president Bill Shine said.

“Fox Business Network and Fox News Channel do not condone the use of such language, and have suspended both Peters and Dash for two weeks,” he said.

Earlier in the day, Ralph Peters, a Fox News “strategic analyst,” called the president a “total pu—” who “doesn’t want to hurt our enemies.”

Meanwhile, Dash is not backing down. She said in a tweet that she was willingly accepting the penalties for her behavior. “Consequences. Some of us have to pay them. Gladly,” she tweeted.

Dash has a history of being critical of Black people and making inappropriate comments about African-Americans. She talks down to Black folks and, for some reason, she blames the poor for being poor –especially if they’re Black.

In 2012, for example, Dash called Black people in Louisiana freeloaders who don’t work.

Fox News host Sean Hannity asked Dash: “Has voting with Obama 95% of the time and Obamacare, has that helped the minority community in Louisiana?”

“No, not at all,” Dash said. “It still keeps them stuck. They’re getting money for free. They feel worthless. They’re uneducated. I mean, as long as you are that way, they can keep you under their control …”

“They have a plantation mentality,” Dash said. “As long as they give you this much money, you’ll stay right there. You don’t need to know too much because if you do, you might start thinking for yourself.”

I wish Dash would start thinking for herself instead of reciting views straight from the Republican playbook.

As for her recent ill-advised comment,  Obama expects political disagreement. It comes with the territory. But what’s not acceptable is cursing on-air when chiding the president.

It seems like Dash, an actress, is just playing the role of a political commentator. So far, it’s a flawed performance.
