NEW ORLEANS (AP) — For years, Karrine Steffans was one of the most sought after video vixens in the hip hop industry.
Then, in 2005 she wrote “Confessions of a Video Vixen,” which chronicled her life as a child and later, as an adult, her trysts with many of the artists she worked with. The book landed on The New York Times Best Seller list.
In June, the 37-year-old published her latest memoir, “Vindicated: Confessions of a Video Vixen, Ten Years Later,” newly exploring her personal journey.
Nowadays, Steffans stands at a lectern, telling her story to college students. In a recent interview with The Associated Press, Steffans says she hopes this time around people will look beyond the celebrity and hear her out about the ongoing fight against domestic violence and abuse.
