Lifetime has announced the full cast for its original film Un-Break My Heart, based on Toni Braxton’s memoir about her struggles with illness, financial troubles and divorce while navigating her son’s autism and family struggles.
Debbi Morgan (Power, All My Children) will play Braxton’s mother, Evelyn, while Gavin Houston (Guiding Light) will play her frequent collaborator, producer Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds.
Cortney Scott Wright, Skye P. Marshall (Public Morals”) and LaToya Franklyn (Subways) have also been cast as Braxton’s sisters and fellow singers, Traci, Towanda and Trina Braxton. It was previously announced that Tiffany Hines (Devious Maids) would play Braxton’s other sister, singer Tamar Braxton, and that Lex Scott Davis would play Braxton herself
Vondie Curtis Hall is directing the film, which, unlike other Lifetime biopic projects, is an authorized life story with Braxton executive producing and guest-starring in the film.
