Dear Tom,
Theresa Yates has been a monumental part of my life – you see, I lost my mom 13 years ago at the age of 20. When I gave birth to my daughter when I turned 29, it was difficult being a new mom without a mother of my own to help guide me along the way but she was there for me.
Theresa does administrative work for DuPont and has been at her job for 35 years. She is the grandmother of 10 and the single mom of three boys: Frederick (44), Sydney (40), and Whitney (35) – Sydney is the father of my 4 year old daughter Kiara and my 8-month old son Jakai.
This amazing woman has been my rock and has been there for emotionally and physically support and has helped out financially a few times. Every morning, she shows up at my home so I can leave and get to work by 7:30 am & makes sure my babies get to daycare & school on time every day.
This is just one of many of her selfless acts. Words can’t explain how much I appreciate her and all that she does for us. She loves to spend her free time in her yard – she has a garden with tulips, lilies, irises and various herbs but I think she deserves a much need vacation.
There’s this spa called the Fallsview Casino that is right in front of Niagara Falls. She went there a while back and really loved it – so I would love to send her on a weekend getaway so she can get herself pampered.
