Dick Gregory knows the N-Word well. After all, he did name his 1964 autobiography, “Nigger.”

So with all the talk of Terrence Howard wanting to use the controversial word in season two of “Empire,” where does Gregory stand?

“It don’t bother me,” comedian-civil rights activist said during an interview on YouTube channel W.E. A.L.L. B.E. T.V. as he recalled a childhood experience that changed his perception of the word. “When I was a little boy and you and your friends go to the movies, and a motherf**ker walk up to me and say, ‘Come on, n*gger, we’re in a hurry,’ I said, ‘OK, man, let’s go.’”

Although “Empire” is currently making waves on the small screen, Gregory shared his reasons why it doesn’t compare to the influence of “The Cosby Show.”

“’Cosby Show’ wasn’t nothing but showing white folks how lovely niggas are,” said Gregory who admits to not having seen “Empire.” “They can go to bed happy when the show went off.”
