Ariana Grande has quietly come to an agreement in a court case where she was accused of stealing key elements for her breakout hit “The Way.”

Minder Music filed a federal suit against Ariana back in 2013, claiming that she lifted a line from a song called “Troglodyte.” Minder Music owns the rights to the song, which was released back in the ‘70s by The Jimmy Castor Bunch.

The music company noticed that “The Way” contained a line that was incredibly similar to one from “Troglodyte,” stating, “What we’re going to do right here is go back, way back. Back into time.”

According to legal documents obtained by TheJasmineBrand.com, Minder Music claims that this is just one example of how Ariana swiped music and phrasing from the 70s track.

A new filing from February 20 states that the matter has been settled between Ariana and Minder Music, and the case has been dismissed. Details about the settlement aren’t readily available, but it is being reported that Ariana and her camp have agreed to pay for all legal fees in the case.
