Naomi Campbell makes an acting stretch in Wednesday’s episode of “Empire,” guest starring as Camilla…a fashionista from across the pond.

“Camilla really is someone that’s from London and she’s in the fashion industry,” the British supermodel tells us. “She’s a designer. She’s been through ups and downs and basically now she’s in America and she’s decided she’s going to start showing her collection in America.”

The episode finds the Lyons back in Philadelphia to experience what their lives would be like had record label mogul Lucious Lyon (Terrence Howard) never made it big.

Also, Lucious eulogizes his best friend – the man he shot dead – and Camilla comes into play when she sets her sights on Lucious’s son Hakeem (Bryshere Gray), despite their age difference, and despite his dad’s attempt to push him toward hip-hop star Tianna.

Campbell believes viewers will ultimately join Team Camilla.

“I think people are going to love Camilla and see her vulnerability and feel for her and know [that] while you know you can be successful in one aspect of your career, you can also have disappointment in your love life and your personal life as well.

“I think there’s going to be an understanding here from a lot of women who have been through that in their lives and I think people are going to want to see Camilla succeed – and Hakeem. I think they’re going to want to see them work it out and be able to come out into the open.”

Below, Campbell, 44, tells us how her own modeling career relates to her character on “Empire”.
