Despite having such a turbulent year in the wake of her husband’s legal problems, Phaedra Parks had a nice quiet Christmas at home with her boys.

It sounds like Apollo Nida had a very lonely Christmas in Kentucky this year.

Phaedra told TMZ that she had briefly considered bringing her sons Ayden and Dylan out to visit Apollo at his prison for the holiday. However, a source told RadarOnline.com reports that the “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” changed her mind as Christmas approached because it “logistically just didn’t work out.” She opted instead to stay “at Phaedra’s Atlanta home” this year.

Apollo was sentenced to eight years in lockup this summer after he was convicted on charges of bank fraud and identity theft. He’s made it clear that he wants to see his boys at some point while he serves his time.

Since Phaedra’s being a bit more careful about who she brings around her little boys, though, the insider said the holiday gathering was “very quiet, immediate family only.” As she moves forward with her divorce from Apollo, this was also Phaedra’s unofficial first Christmas as a single mom. Instead of focusing on her failed marriage, the reality star didn’t allow herself to be distracted from what is really important.

“The entire day was devoted to the boys, and they had a great time,” the insider continued. “Everything Phaedra does is for the boys, and she didn’t want any of the drama of the past year to impact their Christmas.”

Apollo wasn’t completely left out of the festivities. “Apollo did talk to the boys on the telephone on Christmas day,” the insider explained.
