As many of us can clearly see, love truly don’t live with the couple formerly known as Sherri Shepherd and Lamar Sally.

And since Niecy Nash was the one who brought them together at a matchmaking party she hosted, it’s only fitting that Wendy Williams be the one to ask her why she felt the need to hook her longtime friend up with someone who turned out to be a dud.

“You know what, I’m going to tell you what. I don’t feel guilty,” Niecy said when asked if she felt guilty about the hook up. “Here’s the thing. I had a matchmaker party, at my house. But based on where Sherri was in her life, she would have found any version of that man because she was at a place to draw a specific kind of energy unto her.”

Wendy: A negative energy.

Niecy: That doesn’t have anything to do with me. I can invite you to the party but I can’t tell you which man to pick.

Wendy: Is your husband friends with that man?

Niecy: They were friendly?

Wendy: So you’ve chosen sides and you and your husband have chosen Team Shepherd. I think setting up friends is a horrible idea, only because– unless you’re either black or white like I am and you know exactly who you choose if they break up.

Niecy: Well let me just tell you, it wasn’t a hard decision. It wasn’t like we had to set down. It was no fingernail biting. You know what I mean? Sherri is my ride or die, til the day I die. I’m Team Sherri all the way.

Hmmm. Interesting conversation coming from Niecy, who didn’t object to Wendy labeling Lamar’s energy as “negative.”

To see William’s entire interview with Niecy, check out the video above and weigh in on if you think Niecy had any idea of how Lamar really was.
