FERGUSON, Mo. – The parents of Ferguson police shooting victim Michael Brown are headed to Switzerland next week to speak at a United Nations human rights conference.

Michael Brown Sr. (pictured right) and Lesley McSpadden (pictured) are scheduled to address the 53rd Session of the United Nations Committee Against Torture in Geneva on Nov. 12 and 13. A Saint Louis University law professor is helping to organize the trip and to solicit online donations for the couple’s travel expenses.

The trip comes as a St. Louis County grand jury prepares to conclude its inquiry in to the Aug. 9th shooting death of Brown by Ferguson officer Darren Wilson.

Family attorney Anthony Gray told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch that they plan to leave on Nov. 10th.
