Demanding justice for the shooting death of unarmed Ferguson, Mo., teen Michael Brown by a White police officer, demonstrators disrupted the Tuesday election night party of victorious St. Louis County executive candidate Steve Stenger, a Democrat, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatach.

About five people were detained after the loud, but peaceful demonstration, protest organizers told the news site.  Clayton Police Chief Kevin Murphy said five people were arrested. It was unclear if charges would be filed.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports:

Demonstrators began filtering into the Sheraton ballroom at the e Sheraton Clayton Plaza ballroom about a half hour after St. Louis County Prosecutor Robert McCulloch arrived and then granted live television interviews from the Stenger reception.

McCulloch, a key Stenger political ally, has been the focus of demonstrators who contend the prosecutor should recuse from the investigation into the Aug. 9 death of Michael Brown.
