Henry County police said the incident began June 29 on Highway 155 in Locust Grove. Michele Griffith, 27, said that’s whereSheats followed her for miles, blowing his horn, driving erratically and bumping her car.

Griffith said when they pulled into a parking lot where she was going to get pizza, Sheats approached her car and angrily shouted at her.

“Why the (expletive) you going 35 miles per hour on a 45 mile per hour road,” Griffith saidSheats told her.

she told Sheats he could have went around her. She said that’s when he really exploded.

“‘I couldn’t pass, you low life piece of (expletive) (n-word)’ … and (he) spit on me,” Griffith said was Sheats’ response.

Griffith said she was horrified. She said Sheats was screaming so loud people came out of stores and attempted to block him in until police arrived.

Some people wrote down his tag number, as did Griffith. Police said some of the witnesses heard Sheats cursing at Griffith and using a racial slur. One man said he saw him spit on her.

Griffith said Sheats, who wasn’t in uniform, drove away.

Tristan Holt works in the shopping center, and said Sheats was out of control and in Griffith’s face.

“He was in her face the entire time. It was wrong. Everything he did was wrong in my opinion,” he said.

More and more of these incidents are coming to light.

As previously reported by NewsOne, a California Highway Patrol (CHP) officer was captured on video brutally punching a woman in the face.

CHP officials claim that the officer was simply trying to restrain the unidentified woman.

Prior to that, Ersula Ore, an English professor at Arizona State University who was pushed and slammed to the ground by a police officer last month after refusing to show identification, now faces felony charges for assaulting an officer.

Arizona State initially supported the actions of the officer and Dr. Ore has been placed on leave.

  1. Amen! Fear is a great motivator…I’ve said it before and I will say it again…sins of the father are coming home to roost! White folks all over the country are so fearful that they will be on the receiving end of what they’ve been doling out for years!

I would think to think that cops care about a tarnished image, the police dept’s image, the fear of reprimand or at the very least, their loss of pensions before breaking the law, which they solemnly swore to uphold. Can you imagine what it was like without cell phones and eyewitness testimony? Can you imagine what our great grandparents (ancestors in general) went through, even after slavery and Jim Crow when we (blacks) were still viewed as 2nd-class citizens or citizens at all? Frankly, I’m getting sick and tired of all the “administrative leaves” with or without pay. In my opinion of police misconduct, once it’s been deemed that a cop crossed the line, they should be fired immediately, pensions forfeited and never allowed to work for any law-enforcement agency ever again. People everywhere are losing respect for the badge and it’s up to police departments, Internal Affairs and/or the FBI to permanently remove these disgraced and despicable people in an effort to restore some level of faith in the blue uniform. Further, I don’t understand why anyone with racists/bigoted views of others would want to serve in positions that deal with diverse environments on a large scale. Yes, I know every job usually involves interactions with folks of different races and backgrounds, but when police officers, teachers/educators, doctors/nurses, judges and lawmakers display their ugliness, they should be removed from their posts as these professions impact society the most.

Trust me, the majority of his white super powers and courage came from the badge in his wallet. Even though he wasn’t in uniform he had the confidence that nothing would ever happen to him.

Imagine how he acts when he’s in full uniform dealing with black folks?

Hate & craziness, these white people expect to speak to us any kind of way, and when we respond, they can’t deal with it. So quick to label & call us angry, but we are grown and have as much rights to stand up for ourselves.

It’s all about fear. Fear that their numbers are dwindling while black and brown numbers are increasing. Fear of a Black first family in the White House. Fear that someday they will be subjected to the same hatred and mistreatment they’ve dished out for years, and not knowing how they’ll be able to deal with it. Fear makes people act out.

You are so right. Fear could be very dangerous, Especially when you are afraid of reaping what you’ve sown.

  8. I hope she sues his A !! He should be terminated WITHOUT BENEFITS. Sometimes police officers are suspended with pay, and even if they are fired….they still receive benefits such as a pension.

I totally agree. Did the article say she was driving too SLOW??? Wow. Yes he needs to be fired and sued in civil court. Take his job and his money I say…
