Dear Tom,

My mom is a hard working woman who grew up in & out of foster homes.  After she graduated high school, she joined the U.S. army reserves and served for 6 years during the peaceful administration of Bill Clinton.

She went to school to study finance on the G.I. bill and that’s where I came along.  She could not continue her education after she had me so she moved to Nashville.  She joined a big family church that her cousin went to and that’s where she met her cousin’s roommate, bobby.

They hit it off and started dating and have been married for 9 years.  They had two children – my little brother bobby the 3rd (who just turned 8 last month) and my 6-year-old sister Hanna – she’ll be 7 in November.

She likes to keep us active during the summer so she sends us to summer camp at the YMCA.  It’s our reward for doing well in school.  Its fun and we get to do all sorts of things like dance, arts & crafts, and i like to take the swimming lessons every Tuesday and Thursday.

My mom does her best to provide for us.  She works at Vanderbilt University for the hospital’s accounts payable in the finance department.

She was upset about something and she told me us that we would not have summer camp in the month of July out because of finances – and she knows finance.
