In a weird sense of poetic justice, Eminem’schildhood home, the one seen on the cover of “The Marshall Mathers LP” and his latest album “The Marshall Mathers LP2″ was destroyed in a fire.

According to reports, firefighters responded to the abandoned bungalow, located just south of 8 mile, Thursday evening  where a fire was coming out of a window on the second floor. Although firefighters were able to put out the blaze, it destroyed portions of the top floor and roof.

The house, which Em spent much of his troubled childhood, can be seen in his latest video survival. According to reports, his mother Debbie Mathers bought the two-story home in 1987 for $19,000

A cause of the fire hasn’t been determined.
