The Maidenform and Wacoal America brands are being sued by two women after they claim the brands’ caffeine laced shapewear did not help them lose weight despite being advertised to do so.

According to the companies, the caffeine that is embedded in the shapewear is supposed to “promote fat destruction”, however, neither women lost any weight.

The New York natives, Christine Caramore and Michelle Martin, filed the lawsuit in Brooklyn. They are seeking “class certification, restitution, and statutory, treble damages and punitive damages for consumer fraud, breach of warranty and unjust enrichment”, reports the Daily Mail.
