Maybe the Richie Incognito-Jonathan Martin revelation of raunchy team spirit was simply a door opener, because now more weirdness is coming in. We’ve come across a video that apparently shows basketball star Anthony Davis getting spanked on his naked behind in the locker room; apparently during his short-lived time as a member of the Kentucky Wildcats.
Now we’ll admit the source of this video is “questionable”. Actually, Deadspin.com identifies the person as a “Louisville fan,” but in the video Davis is lying face down, no clothes on, while another man — seemingly a teammate — slaps him on the rear end. Truthfully, from where we sit, Davis doesn’t seem to mind. In fact, he appears to be hamming it up for the camera.
But this might be a defense mechanism. One of those, “Bring it! I can take it” acts.
Davis left Kentucky after his freshman season and was the No. 1 pick in the 2012 NBA Draft. Now he plays for the New Orleans Pelicans and just had his breakout game as a pro the night before this video leaked.
On Friday, the NBA reportedly sent a memo to its teams to remind them of the league’s policy against hazing practices.
