If Mike Tyson is giving Chris Brown advice on anger management, then Brown should listen.

Tyson, the former heavyweight boxer who said he beat up seven hookers in 2009 while he was high on morphine, cocaine and cognac, said Brown needs to get his anger under control and change his violent ways before it’s too late.

“I’m just worried about him,” said Tyson, who appeared on the 95.5 PLJ Morning Show Tuesday. “They’re gonna put him somewhere where that’s all they do is assault people.”

“I like and admire that little guy, but what he really needs to understand is eventually if you keep doing that stuff, people are turning on you, the press will make … people turn on you and make you bad,” Tyson said.

“Chris should know this,” Tyson added, “if you’re not humble in this world, this world will thrust humbleness upon you.”

That’s a powerful message.

Tyson, who now says he’s sober, battled anger issues for years. In one of the most bizarre outbursts, Tyson bit off half of Evander Holyfield’s ear in a violent rage during a prize fight in 1997.

“It was the lowest point of a very low life, but it was my own knockout punch to clean up life, get whole, get well – and I haven’t done anything in three years now,” Tyson said about drugs and beating up the prostitutes.

I hope Brown is paying attention – and I hope he learns from Tyson’s past mistakes.

Brown, the troubled Grammy Award-winning singer, was charged with  misdemeanor assault on Monday after he was arrested Sunday for allegedly punching a guy in the face. Brown could go to prison if a judge determines that he violated his probation stemming from his assault on Rihanna, his ex-girlfriend, in 2009. He faces up to 180 days in jail if convicted and a judge scheduled a hearing for Nov. 25.

Brown’s latest alleged violent outburst happened Sunday morning. According to the DC police report, Isaac Adams Parker, 20, of Beltsville, Maryland, was trying to sneak into a photo being taken of Brown. Then Brown allegedly told Parker “I’m not into that gay s**t” and “I feel like boxing.”

He then allegedly punched Parker in the face. Christopher Hollosy, reported to be Brown’s bodyguard, stepped in between Brown and Parker, and also punched Parker in the face. Hollosy was also arrested.

Brown is due back in court Nov. 20 in Los Angeles to update a judge on his probation. Prosecutors could seek a revocation of his probation after his arrest in D.C.

After he was charged with beating up Rihanna in 2009, Brown wrote a controversial song called “Changed Man.”

I’m a changed man

‘Cause you mean that much to me

And I don’t wanna be done

I’m doing all that I can

And everybody hates Chris

They can never understand

Brown is right. I don’t understand. I don’t understand his violent tendencies. I don’t understand how he can hit a woman. I don’t understand why he continues to self-destruct.

And I certainly never thought I’d write these four words to Chris Brown: Listen to Mike Tyson.
