PARK FOREST, Ill. (AP) — A 95-year-old suburban Chicago man who pulled a foot-long knife and threatened police with a cane and a shoehorn has died after officers used a Taser and a bean bag gun to subdue him.

The Chicago Sun-Times reports the man became upset after an ambulance crew in Park Forest tried to take him to a medical facility. That’s when authorities say John Warna used a metal cane and a two-foot-long metal shoehorn to threaten paramedics and police.

After police said to drop the items, he grabbed a butcher knife.

Authorities say they used a Taser and bean bag rounds to subdue Warna. He was conscious and talking when he was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, but died early Saturday.

95 year old man?? I bet he was a threat. One good wind would have probably knocked him down but these idiots have to be aggressive. Fire their asses, sue the police dept., and if that doesn’t work sue the police officers personally.

  2. You know, most cops are nothing but cowards. A 95 year old man? Really? And i’ll bet there are some idiots out there who think those punk ass cops were right. The man was 95 and most likely had mental problems. But did that cross their punkass minds? And what makes it even worst, their bosses will probebly give them a medel. To me most cops are nothing more than Bitches with badges!
