Carlton Bryan, 21, (pictured above left) who stands accused of hiring a hit-man to kill his pregnant girlfriend, Shamari Jenkins, 20, has been charged  with murder, conspiracy to commit murder, carrying a pistol without a permit and second-degree making a false statement, reports CTNow.com.

Jenkins, who was four months pregnant, was riding in the car with Bryan on April 29, when his friend, Matthew Allen Hall-Davis, 24, (pictured above right) fired a shot through the back  window.

According to police, the bullet struck Jenkins in the shoulder and traveled through her torso. She and her unborn baby were pronounced  dead at the hospital.

Bryan allegedly planned the hit because Jenkins wouldn’t get an abortion.

See WTIC news report below:

Bryan’s bail was set at $2.5 million. Hall-Davis, who is currently in jail on an unrelated robbery charge, faces similar charges.

“It was hard to see him, knowing he used to come to my house and stay the night and talk with me,” Jenkins’ father, Todd Jenkins told WTIC-TV, “and then for him to turn around do something like this.”
