When news hit that Robin Thicke would not be returning to the second season of “Real Husbands of Hollywood,” rumors of an alleged beef with show creator Kevin Hart started to circulate. Some reports said that Robin didn’t like the direction of Kevin’s jokes and, after an alleged meeting with show producers, he stormed off the set.

Well, the blue-eyed soul singer cleared the air in a recent interview with Power 105.1′s The Breakfast Club. He said he remains good friends with Kevin and he’s skipping season two to focus on his music.

“The thing was, I was gonna do the new season and then this song started taking off. I didn’t have the time to do the new season” he said. “I had to get this album. It was fun just to do it like once. Then you start to repeat story lines, repeating jokes.”

When asked if he was ever offended by Kevin’s jokes about his wife Paula Patton, he said no.

“You know, that’s comedy. Kevin [Hart] and I actually met at Chris Paul’s wedding only about a year ago. When we met, I started doing my impersonation of Kevin for Kevin. I know his whole standup. We hit it off right away. We went to dinner and we laughed for hours like we were best friends from high school. That’s why the show was fun and so easy to do. Him and I have similar tastes in comedy,” he said.

He went on to say that his relationship with his wife of nearly 8 years is going great. She’s even the inspiration behind most of his music.

“One time she told me ‘You don’t know what it’s like to be Black and you don’t know what it’s like to be a woman.’ I was like, ‘I don’t know how to argue with that.’ So I wrote a song ‘I Don’t Know How it Feels to be You’ because I don’t know. As much as I try to understand and as much as I try to put myself in your shoes, I’ll never know what it’s like to be Black in America and I’ll never know what it’s like to be a woman,” he said.

The “Blurred Line” singer is currently on the road promoting his upcoming sixth studio album, due out this summer.
