Nick Cannon’s presence at NBC is getting bigger. The network has just given the “America’s Got Talent” host and his manager, Michael Goldman, the principals at NCredible Entertainment, the option to develop both scripted and unscripted programming in a “first-look” production deal.
The 32-year-old film star, comedian, musician, writer and director, who is married to one of the greatest vocal talents in history, Mariah Carey, is no stranger to producing content.
“Nick already has produced content for many entertainment genres and formats, and we look forward with great anticipation to his cutting-edge ideas in the months to come,” said NBC president of alternative and late night programming Paul Telegdy. “We are gratified to know that this new agreement will expand our successful working relationship with Nick beyond ‘America’s Got Talent’ and allow him to further draw on his notable creative instincts,” he adds.
Cannon has had his share of health issues recently, but now he seems to be doing fine and is thrilled about the new opportunity.
“Working closely with Paul Telegdy and the folks at NBC has been incredibly rewarding. I am thrilled to expand my role and contributions by creating original programming for the NBC Universal team,” said Cannon.
Under the NCredible banner, Cannon executive produced and hosted the fourth installment of the HALO Awards on Nickelodeon. The awards recognize teenagers overcoming difficult personal circumstances to help their communities.
Cannon will return as host on “America’s Got Talent,” next summer.
