Veteran Atlanta news anchor Amanda Davis of Fox 5 has been arrested for driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol after a wrong-way wreck.

The anchor at WAGA in Atlanta was driving northbound in the southbound lane of Piedmont Avenue early Sunday morning when the crash occurred, according to the Atlanta Constitution-Journal.

Davis was arrested near Piedmont and 14th in Atlanta.

"Upon speaking with both drivers, the officer noticed an odor of alcohol emanating from Ms. Davis' person," Sgt. Lyon said in a statement, according to 11 Alive. "He asked her if she had been drinking, to which she did respond in the affirmative."

Davis would not take a field sobriety test, but a DUI officer found probable cause to arrest her, according to 11 Alive. Davis was charged with reckless driving and failure to maintain lane. Her license was confiscated and she was taken to jail.
