Remember the lawsuit that Rihanna filed against her now ex-accountants saying that the millions she lost was their fault.

Well, to no one’s surprise, those former accountants have responded saying essentially Rihanna’s loss was her own fault. They had nothing to do with it, according to TMZ.

If you recall Rihanna sued her former accounting firm — Berdon LLP — claiming they mismanaged her dough and failed to inform her that her 2009 “Last Girl on Earth” tour was losing cash.

The singer also alleged, the accounting firm took an above standard commission from her at a whopping 22%.

In legal documents Berdon strikes back, claiming any accusations of shoddy accounting and money mismanagement are BS … they add that the commission they took was signed off on by RiRi in an engagement letter that gave them permission to do so.

The accountants are adamant it was Rihanna’s “own financial action or inaction” or the actions of others working for her that caused her to lose MILLIONS … not them.

Berdon LLP is asking that Rihanna be awarded nothing from the suit. A judge has yet to rule.

This is a prime example when you have to rely upon others, i.e. accountants and lawyers at high rates. They get theres off the top everytime and the IRS what little is left will surely dwindle. Then you add up your entourage expenses you will find, as did Michael J, millions in debt while your family is living high on the hog, you six feet under. What is it all for? When you don’t have the education to do it, you have to find people you can trust or better yet go talk to Bill Cosby and Oprah and get some advice. I would even venture to suggest they might have a trustworthy team that has your best interest at heart. While the singer is performing and in the studio trying to get a make a hit song, it is those behind the scenes making all the real money with ease. OBAMA 2012

She needs to learn how to budget her own money. Its seem like the company managing her money had full access to take all her money

What’s sad is these stars that spend money like it is going out of style. Ultimately, it’s the star that has, or should have, the final say on how their money is spent. Stars (and anyone else for that matter) should remember the quotes from Oprah Winfrey and Chris Rock. Oprah – “Sign all of your OWN checks so you know where the money is going.” CR – “There’s a difference between being rich and being wealthy. You can’t lose wealth. Rich you can lose in a summer with a bad crack habit.” Instead of running out and buying the latest whip, they should run out and get a financial planner to teach them how to make their money work for them instead of the other way around.
