Maybe you’re not a fan of Spike Lee’s “She Hate Me” – which, indeed, does try to stuff a whole lot of themes in one movie – but it should have made you a fan of Anthony Mackie. The young actor has recently made his mark in films like 2009’s acclaimed “The Hurt Locker,” but he’s been around for a while. Mackie has played a variety of roles in his career and has worked on projects with some stellar talent.

Despite his moving role in “The Hurt Locker,” co-star Jeremy Renner got the Oscar nomination and the work afterwards. Come on, let’s give Mackie his due and find him some great projects. Our Denzels and Sams and Morgans aren’t exactly babies. We need the next school to show up in some good projects.
