The Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity was founded on December 4, 1906 at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. It’s the first Black, Inter-Collegiate Greek-Lettered fraternity.

In a candid new interview with People, music icon Lionel Richie admits that his kids “turned me into my parents.”

The 2022 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame nominees list has been announced, and it includes a handful of entertainers in Black culture like Lionel Richie, A Tribe Called Quest, Dionne Warwick and Fela Kuti.

The Library of Congress recently announced that Lionel Richie will receive the national library’s Gershwin Prize for Popular Song. He will be bestowed the prize at an all-star tribute in Washington, D.C., on March 9.

Honorees for the 2022 Black Music and Entertainment Walk of Fame are looking just as elite as the class of 2021, with this year including legends like Smokey Robinson, Berry Gordy, late entertainers Cicely Tyson and Ray Charles, plus a handful of others.
