BOOK REVIEW: '52: Travel Activity Kit'

Date: Thursday, May 01, 2008
By: CHERYL KING -- McClatchy Newspapers, nandotimes.com Original

What it is: This handy kit features a book of 52 activities to keep kids happy while traveling, along with a set of markers, a ruler with fun stencils, 10 postcards and 48 cute stickers, all kept compactly in a convenient carrying case with pockets. The activities include everything from rhyming games to memory games to travel bingo.

Who it's for: Kids old enough to read and write, but younger kids can play, too, if someone helps them.

Why we love it: This activity kit provides creative games for road trips, plane flights or train rides, but is also a great companion for long waits in a doctor's office or even on rainy days when you're stuck in the house. All 52 activities are designed to get kids thinking creatively and, with a little modification, can be played anywhere, anytime.

"52: Travel Activity Kit" is published by Chronicle Books. $16.95.
