For iPad/iPhone: Remember just last week when we talked about the picture I posted on social media of the guy who looked like the popular depiction of Jesus selling Christmas trees in my neighborhood? Well this week I’ve been outdone by a Fox News anchor who emphatically stated not only that Jesus was white, but […]

For iPad/iPhone users: It has been one year since the horror of the Newtown shooting where 20 children sadly lost their lives. A lot of people thought gun laws would change. They did. They expanded in spite of the President and Vice President’s push to restrict assault weapons. Combined studies show almost every state has […]

For iPad/iPhone users: I want to challenge you this morning to open your minds and to think differently. I want you, regardless of how bad your circumstances might be, to not think of yourself as a victim. I ask because something I read recently challenged some of my own beliefs. In fact the article is […]

For iPad/iPhone users: Do me a favor. Type the word ‘Jesus’ into the Google images search field and see what comes up. Thousands upon thousands of images of a long-haired, bearded, youngish, granola-crunchy, tree hugging types is what you’ll get. You know the make love not war, hippy type from the 1970’s. So just last […]

For iPhone users: Two years into the second term.  That’s when presidents usually start to seriously consider their legacies and begin taking action. President Barack Obama did just that this week when he announced a new, $100 million U.S. initiative to advance research towards a cure for HIV. It is a noble effort and it’s […]

For iPad/iPhone users:  The “Knockout” game, have you heard of it? It’s a game where young people randomly target a person who is alone and looks like they won’t fight back. They hit them over the head and knock them out. The person, not knowing what hit them, falls to the ground and lays there […]

For iPad/iPhone users: My first big story in the news business was the L.A. riots more than 20 years ago. I thought I’d seen just about everything in this business. But this past Saturday night on CNN I experienced something for the first time in life really. I had a conversation with someone who admitted […]

For iPad/iPhone users: Have you seen the president’s poll numbers lately? Not good. They’re the lowest they’ve ever been. They’re as low as George W. Bush’s during Hurricane Katrina and the Iraq war. The disastrous roll out of Obamacare is the biggest factor. According to a Quinnipiac University poll this week, just 39 percent of […]

For iPad/iPhone users: I want you to read something that caught my attention this week: “When we have more national championships than we do black male freshmen, it’s evident that our only purpose here is to improve your winning percentage. So now black high school kids can care less about grades just as long as […]

For iPad/iPhone users: When we think of bullies we usually think of kids, mostly teenagers. But, adult bullying is real and was made plain this week with the story of Miami dolphins teammates Incognito and Martin; one accusing the other of bullying him to the point where he felt compelled to leave the team and […]

For iPad/iPhone users: Tom, if you and everyone in the U.S.  aren’t paying close attention to tonight’s mayoral race in New York City, you should be because so goes New York City, so goes the rest of the country. The city is home, aware of it or not, to one of the most important races […]

For IPAD/IPHONE users: Shopping while black, let’s talk about that. Every time it hits the news, every time it happens; even when it’s someone famous, there are people who loath to believe that this even happens in America and because we’re so skeptical that it happens, we perpetuate it even encourage it. In our personal […]
