When Houston rapper Lil Flip (pictured) was busted Wednesday for speeding down a Louisiana interstate, he probably thought he would get slapped with a fine. But Flip was arrested for allegedly being in the possession of drugs and a firearm, according to E Online.
The 31-year-old performer, whose actual name is Wesley Eric Weston, was accused of traveling 86 mph in a 75 mph zone. Flip was behind the wheel of a sporty 2010 Dodge Challenger and was accompanied by Olanza Sanders, a Shreveport resident, who was also taken into custody for illegal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
After deputies stopped Flip, they proceeded to conduct a check of his vehicle and stumbled upon marijuana and a Bushmaster AR-15 assault rifle.
Both Flip and Sanders have had past troubles with the law and have in common a history of narcotics arrests.
Flip remains behind bars and faces $35,550 in bonds, while Sanders was released on a $25,000 bond.
