Facebook and Twitter photos have emerged from President Obama’s visit with family members who lost loved ones during Friday’s massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, CT.
The president managed to put some smiles on the faces of grieving family members before his speech at an interfaith vigil held Sunday night at Newtown High School.
Among those in the room were the daughter and granddaughter of Dawn Hochsprung, Sandy Hook’s principal who was killed in the shooting. Hochsprung’s daughter, Cristina Hassinger, captured the above moment between Obama and her daughter. She tweeted the photo, along with the message:
Below, friends and family of Emilie Parker, a 6-year-old victim of the shooting, were also photographed with the president.
