BRIGANTINE, N.J. (AP) — President Barack Obama is telling people recovering from Sandy's devastation along New Jersey's coastline that "we are here for you, and we will not forget."
Obama joined New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and other officials to inspect damage from the massive storm that struck the East Coast. He saw flooded neighborhoods and sand-strewn streets during a tour that came less than a week before Election Day.
Obama says the federal government is "here for the long haul."
Christie, a supporter of Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney, says he "can't thank the president enough" for his concern and compassion during the storm.

Cindycruz is upset, because Dubya was slow in helping the Katrina victims. MY President cares for the common Americans and the ‘haters’ can’t stand it. History records each Administrations actions and it can’t be changed.

President Obama was one of 14 Senators who voted against aid for the Katrina victoms…. I was shocked.
? Makes me wonder, will Christie changed his mind how President Obama responded especially to his state. I sure would like to hear him say “I changed my mind. I get it now”. “Thank you, President Obama, I made a mistake, I am supporting you now.” That would be a great wish.
