TJMS PICK: “Kevin Hart: Laugh At My Pain,” starring Kevin Hart (NR)
The comic who recently hosted the BET Awards – introducing “Hollywood Husbands,” including Nelly, Bobby Brown and himself as the comic foil for “Basketball Wives’” Tami Roman – heads into theaters today with his stand-up film. The height-challenged Philadelphia native has broken out of the comic pack in the last year, becoming one of the most popular of the new school comedians seemingly overnight. “Laugh At My Pain,” shot live during Hart’s two-night stand at L.A.’s Nokia Theater, includes footage from a trip to his hometown and more behind the scenes goings-on. Hart, a former shoe salesman, hit the standup comedy trail after winning an amateur competition in Philly. Now, he’s on the big screen, and his career is on the rise.
