50 years after its controversial admission of James Meridith, the first African-American to attend the university, Ole Miss has crowned its first black homecoming queen.
She was crowned during the halftime ceremonies of the Ole Miss-Auburn football game and she was escorted by her father Commander Kerri Pearson. (Photo above)
Pearson won by less than 100 votes, coming in at 1,477 to 1,387 over a white student.

The hate coming from the fact that not only is she Black, but she is not slender-the typical size for most beauty queens.

No, the young woman may not be the Caucasian definition of what constitutes an African American beauty- light skinned, European features, but for some reason she was voted in to the position. Even if it was intended as a joke, I hope this young lady uses it to her advantage, goes on to achieve and rams it straight down those pranksters throats.
