  • Weekend voting was responsible for over 93,000 Ohio votes three days prior to the 2008 election.

Churches across the county encouraged their congregations to take their “souls to the polls” on the Sunday preceding the 2008 election. Due to Husted ruling, this will no longer be available.

Early voters in Cuyahoga and Franklin counties which includes Cleveland are predominately African American.

According to a study by Northeast Ohio Voter Advocates, in 2008 African Americans accounted for nearly 56 percent of all in-person early voters and 26 percent of all votes in Cuyahoga County.
