Two 15-year-old teens have been caught on tape bullying 10-year-old, Cequan Haskins, on a school bus.
According to Roxanne Haskins, her son was a victim of extreme bullying and did not deserve it. She said in an interview about the incident, “He was entitled to a safe transportation just like any other child in the Appomattox County Public School System.”
In the video, the two teen boys can be seen harming the special needs student both verbally and physically. The duo can be heard shouting expletives at Haskins, including sexual and racial remarks, while at one point even burning Haskins with a cigarette lighter.
The two teens were subsequently found guilty of assault and battery and disorderly conduct. The bus driver was also pursued on charges of neglect, but she was acquitted on all charges.
Roxanne Haskins released the video to inform other parents about bullying, In hopes that other's can learn from her son's incident.
She also says her son was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder and had to undergo therapy in result of the incident.
