Multiple outlets are reporting that Los Angeles rapper Nipsey Hussle has been shot and killed in Los Angeles. The L.A. based rapper was the boyfriend of actress Lauren London. They share a son, Kross. Nipsey, born Ermias Ashgedom, was shot along with two others outside Marathon Clothing a store he owned in Los Angeles’ Crenshaw section. An independent rap artist, Hussle earned his reputation via mixtapes and then made his major label debut in 2018, earning a Grammy nod this year.
LOS ANGELES — The Grammy-nominated rapper Nipsey Hussle was killed in a shooting outside his clothing store in Los Angeles on Sunday afternoon, multiple law enforcement sources said. Two other men were in serious condition, and a suspect remained at large.
No further information was immediately available about the shooting at Marathon Clothing on Slauson Avenue in South Los Angeles. But just a couple of hours before, Hussle, 33, whose real name was Ermias Ashgedom, had tweeted, “Having strong enemies is a blessing.”
A large crowd of people, many of them crying, gathered at the intersection as police and media helicopters whirred overhead.
Although reports say a male suspect fled to a waiting car, no one has yet been arrested.

I shared a long plane ride with @NipseyHussle right as his major label debut album Victory Lap dropped. We journeyed from Los Angeles to New York on an epic trip, discussing weighty intellectual matters & soul charging moral/racial concerns. He was one of the most intelligent (1) pic.twitter.com/hp8jrNA58O
